I am Gloria of Veghead, Etc., and I love cooking—mainly with whole grains and plants. Maybe that’s because I live in Northern California, where I am able to eat fresh-picked, local, organically grown vegetables year-round. Ingredients grown with care definitely taste better—knowledge gained from personal experience.
I have had the privilege of helping farmers sell their vegetables at my nearby farmers’ market for more than fifteen years. Experimenting with the seasonal vegetables that come to market has opened my mind and my taste buds to new possibilities. Getting cooking ideas and tips from customers is such a gift.
You might notice that my recipes include a list of ingredients but not specific amounts. Why? Because each person’s palate is different and only through experience do we learn what we like and how we want our food to taste. Only you know can sense how much of an ingredient to use to make your kitchen experiment a success. Try it, taste it, and you might like it—but if not, tweak it!
Thank you for stopping by my food blog. I hope you will join me on this culinary journey.
